In my last post a reader, A, made a comment about why
Tavi is being so criticized taking into consideration that in spite of her age she knows a lot about fashion and has a wide and big interior world. I agree, she knows a lot about fashion and she has a highly vast interior, you just have to read a couple of posts to be aware of that.
But not only in Fashion, in anything, you need more than knowing and being a profound person, to succeed and keep up there on top.
My personal view on this topic is that
Tavi is a little girl that in spite of all her virtues – she has many – is too young. Even if she were the most intelligent person on earth she would still have a very big handicap living in a world ruled by adults, that is she’s still too young and lacks a lot of experience that is precisely accumulated during all teenager years so as to be able to make good and appropriate choices when we become adults. That’s what is to be a teenager, to make many mistakes and good choices that will later give us the wisdom to be able to survive and perform better as adults.
It’s her choice and her parent’s choice to be blogging exposing herself so much, but if they are acting that way it must be because the pros clearly compensate the cons.
But being exposed means you can receive critics. It’s the bad part of blogging. On one hand you may achieve a lot of things, fame, popularity and jobs in a way that was unthinkable a couple of years ago. But, I repeat, if you’re there for the good, you’re there for the bad.
And as for
Tavi’s choices when she dresses, makes a picture of her and uploads it on her blog, I think that she was fresh, she was childish and she had a great style that now she’s beginning to lose because of her search for originality. It is not only about mix and match and searching for combinations that have not been done before, it’s also about achieving a final balanced result, even if strange, that tells a full comprehensive story.
En mi ultimo post una lectora, A, hizo un comentario sobre por qué Tavi estaba siendo tan criticada considerando que a pesar de su edad ella sabe muchísimo sobre moda y tiene un mundo interior ancho y grande. Estoy de acuerdo, sabe muchísimo sobre moda y tiene un mundo interior muy grande y sólo tienes que leer un par de posts para darte cuenta.
Pero no sólo en el mundo de la moda, en cualquier cosa, necesitas algo más que saber y ser una persona profunda para triunfar y mantenerte en la cima.
Mi opinión personal sobre este tema es que Tavi es una niña pequeña que a pesar de todas sus virtudes – tiene muchas – es demasiado joven. Aunque fuera la persona más inteligente sobre la tierra seguiría siendo un gran hándicap para vivir en un mundo dirigido por adultos el ser tan joven y que le falte tanta experiencia que precisamente se acumula durante los años de adolescencia para poder tomar buenas y adecuadas decisiones cuando nos convertimos en adultos. Eso es lo que es ser adolescente, hacer un montón de errores y buenas elecciones que después nos darán la sabiduría para poder sobrevivir y actuar mejor de adultos.
Es su elección y la elección de sus padres el que se exponga tanto pero si están actuando así debe ser porque claramente los pros compensan los contras.
Pero estar expuesta significa que puedes recibir críticas. Es la parte mala de bloguear. Por una parte puedes conseguir un montón de cosas, fama, popularidad, trabajos de una manera que era impensable hace un par de años. Pero, repito, si estás ahí para lo bueno, lo estás para lo malo.
Y sobre las elecciones de Tavi cuando se viste, hace una foto suya y la cuelga en el blog, pienso que antes era fresca, infantil y que tenía un gran estilo que ahora ha empezado a perder por culpa de su búsqueda de originalidad. No se trata sólo de mezclar y conjuntar y buscar combinaciones que no se hayan hecho antes, también se trata de conseguir un resultado equilibrado, aunque sea extraño, que nos cuente una historia integral.
